Firm News · May 28, 2020

Many workers’ compensation claims are resolved quickly and without issue.

But when the employer or the insurer disputes the validity of a claim, do you know what to do?

We’re excited to announce that our very own Ben Gerber, co-founder of the Georgia law firm of Gerber & Elkins Workers’ Compensation Attorneys, will speak at the National Business Institute on September 2, 2020 on the topic of contested workers’ compensation claims.

Ben is a nationally recognized workers’ compensation attorney who has handled a myriad of cases over his nearly 20-year career, and he looks forward to sharing his extensive experience and knowledge with others.

“I am excited to discuss the intricacies of workers’ compensation with a broad audience across the country,” said Gerber of his upcoming presentation.

What Ben will discuss

In this focused program targeted to work injury lawyers across the country, Ben will discuss how to carry a contested workers’ compensation case from the initial steps to discovery to a final and successful resolution.

During the course, Ben will:

  • Give practical tips for deposing supervisors, treating physicians and other witnesses.
  • Explain how to prove that the injury or disease is work-related and that medical treatment is needed.
  • Help attendees uncover real-world strategies for negotiating with workers’ compensation insurance carriers.

Ben’s talk will be simulcast as an audio webcast by WestLegalEd Center, and anyone with an internet-accessible phone or computer can watch the presentation.

Here’s an outline of Gerber’s presentation:
